The waterbird species that can be seen are the Australian Pelican, Little Black Cormorant and Little Pied Cormorant, Black Swan, Grey Teal, Australian Shoveller, Blue Billed Duck, Red-necked Avocet and Silver Gull.
Carnaby's Black Cockatoo, Baudin's Black Cockatoo, Western Rosella, Red-capped Parrot, Red-winged Fairy-wren, Western Thornbill, Western Spinebill, Swan River, Honeyeater, White-breasted Robin and Red-eared Firetaill.
The Blue Wren is the symbol of the Denmark Shire and the bird's bright blue feathers can be seen from most windows in the region.
